Schaffer Construction - Designs for Life is a Loudoun County based Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) providing remodeling services to Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, Fauquier, Prince William and surrounding areas.
Our deck projects include standard features that other contractors quote as extras.
Our standard features include:
- Real “select deck” decking boards. This is a #1 grade (2” by 6”) decking board with few knots and rounded edges.
- Drip channels on the bottom to promote water drainage.
- 48” cased stairs to allow for two people to walk side by side.
- Decking that is screwed down instead of nailing to prevent nail pops.
- All railing and trim is #1 grade or better.
Upgrades include:
- “C Select” decking that basically has no knots for a finer finished appearance.
- A selection of Composite decking and railing systems allowing for minimal maintenance. No staining and sealing required.
