Certified Aging-in-Place (CAPS) Assessments
Schaffer Construction - Designs for Life is a Loudoun County based Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) specializing in providing aging in place modifications for our seniors and special needs remodeling services for people with disabilities.
We're a Registered builder with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for the Specially Adaptive Housing (SAH) {2101 (a)} Grant program.
Immediate Needs Services
This service is geared towards clients who are going to be released from a hospital or rehabilitation facility from a planned or unplanned visit. We visit facilities to consult with your therapists.
This service provides access for the home entryway, sleeping and toileting/bathing access.
We strongly encourage you to call us as soon as possible to plan for your return home.
If you are scheduling a hospital stay and know that you will have a temporary or permanent mobility issue upon returning home call us prior to your hospital visit and take comfort knowing your home will be ready for you when you return.
Designs for Progressive Needs Services
This service is geared toward clients facing a progressive illness or condition.
We will work with you in planning and implementing access modifications as they are needed.
This will allow you to budget for modifications as they are needed.
Designs for Life Services
This service is for the clients with no known conditions or injuries who know they plan to stay in their home (age-in-place) and want their home to grow with them. If you are planning a remodel this would be the best time to use this service.
This service starts with a whole house, room by room, assessment for access and safety and is customized to each client's needs.
Remodeling at your own pace to make your house a home for life allows you time to budget and time to schedule.
Planning now reduces the risk of requiring immediate need services and gives you peace of mind.
